Joy: The Fuel of The Spiritual Journey

In my ongoing journey of life and vocation, I have kept my hands open to the invitations the Lord brings me to companion people through my words and presence.  Yesterday I preached this sermon at Church of The Incarnation, Oviedo, Florida.

My text was from Romans 12: 1-2

I appeal to you therefore, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but ”be transformed” by the renewing of your minds, so that you may discern what is the will of God—what is good and acceptable and perfect.

My focus was on the words: Be Transformed. Indeed, the goal and aim of life is to become the kind of person whose life is increasingly taking on the character of Christ. Not perfectly, but with growing substance and increasing reality.

I wanted to share three directions to grow towards:

1. Seeing That The Fuel Of Transformation Is Joy.

2. Seeing The Aim And Goal Of Life Is Transformation Into Christlikeness.

3. Seeing The Way Of Transformation Begins With The Renewal Of Our Minds.

It was sheer joy for me to share my heart.

With You On The Journey,
